Target Hunger: Compassion on the Move
A Saturday morning volunteer project for the whole family from 9:00am to 12:00pm with our partner, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in collaboration with Target Hunger, JustServe.org, and other faith organizations.
After more than 35 years of serving the Kashmere Gardens community, the Willie H. & Gladys R. Goffney Community Garden is preparing for its next chapter.
In-person program
Join Target Hunger for a special day of service as we prepare the historic Goffney Community Garden for its transition to our newly reopened Target Hunger Main Campus Garden.
Volunteers will help harvest produce, clean and dismantle garden beds, organize tools and supplies, pack reusable materials, relocate the garden's resources, and preserve the legacy of a space that has served the community since 1989.
This family-friendly event offers meaningful opportunities for volunteers of all ages, with projects suitable for children and adults alike.
Meet Target Hunger
Target Hunger serves thousands of vulnerable households whose residents suffer from food insecurity each month. This distribution of nutritious food is accomplished through multiple food pantries, food fairs, their own fresh produce gardens, spring & summer break food programs for children, and emergency food assistance.
Target Hunger also connects families trapped in long-term food insecurity and intergenerational poverty with needed vital services through referrals to a wide network of groups that specialize in helping individuals overcome barriers to improving their life prospects.
