WANDERLIGHT Happy Hour: Sacred Sips and Soulful Steps

It’s time to wind down, breathe deep, contemplate life, and connect! Let’s enjoy our “Wanderlight” – the ignited soul within that explores and wanders, using labyrinths as the anchor.

Join Sarah Gish, a Certified Veriditas Labyrinth Facilitator for a leisurely labyrinth walk at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church followed by drinks (mocktails and otherwise!) at the Monarch in Hotel 2 blocks away.

  • The labyrinth walk and going to the restaurant are self-paced.

  • There will be guidance and handouts at the walk if you are new to labyrinths. The sun will set around 5:30pm so the labyrinth will be lit up once it does.

  • Following the walk, everyone is invited to make a “Compassion Fan” to blow the winds of kindness out into the world. Changing our energy and our thoughts adds to the collective consciousness and amplifies our desires for peace. The theme of this year’s “Compassion Week” is SMALL ACTS.BIG CHANGE. The small act of gathering as a community brings about big change. We will nourish ourselves with meditation, sustenance, creativity, and camaraderie -- and will then share that joy with others. An easy gesture to start with is your smile! If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours.

Compassionate Houston is celebrating the 10th anniversary of their annual “Compassion Week,” this year from November 10-16. Special events each day showcase our city’s creativity and share tangible examples of Houston’s compassionate culture. It’s a reminder for all of us, especially now, to make time for empathy and love every single day.
