Compassion Grows here: within us. Between us. Beyond Us
Compassion Week is Compassionate Houston’s annual invitation to explore how compassion takes root in Houston — in our inner steadiness, in our relationships, and in the ways we widen our circle of care. Each November, partners and network friends across Greater Houston offer programs that help us learn, practice, and experience compassion in everyday life.
At Compassionate Houston, we work to nurture a culture of compassion through awareness, education, community, and service. Compassion Week is where that shared work comes alive.
SAVE THE DATE — Compassion Week 2026 November 9-15
This year’s theme invites us to notice how compassion grows from the inside out — beginning within us, strengthening between us, and extending beyond us into community.
WORLD KINDNESS DAY
Compassion Week coincides with World Kindness Day (November 13), a global observance created in 1998 to encourage kindness toward ourselves, one another, and the world. It’s a reminder that compassion is a shared human thread — something that connects us across communities and cultures.
Network-wide Compassion Week event
The 2026 Network Event That Draws Us All Together Around Stories of Kindness!
A citywide evening with The Moth, where you can step up and share a true, five‑minute story on KINDNESS — or simply come enjoy the show and cheer on the storytellers.
The Moth is a global storytelling nonprofit with a mission to inspire people to listen and share openly, think and feel deeply, and expand their understanding of one another.
We teamed up with The Moth for an Open-Mic StorySlam here in Houston at Lambert Hall in The Heights!
